Take action for Baguio Trees!

Amidst the unpopularity and obvious injustice of their project SM Baguio still proceeded with their dastardly interest of expanding their shopping mall at the expense of 182 trees in Luneta Hill.

To date 10 trees have already fallen as casualties of this project. It is a shame that many in the mainstream environmental movement in the Philippines has not taken any concrete step at the moment to defend the helpless trees. However, we must not loose hope nor must we solely depend on their supposed "influence" in publick affairs as their silence has rendered them obsolete to respond to the immediacy of the threat at hand.

Keeping that in mind we call upon all eco-warriors and all able-bodied souls that believe in actions not words. Who believe that this mass murder of trees masqueraded as a "development" project should be stopped to hop on the next trip to Baguio to be with the defenders of the trees on the ground. The trees look upon your brave and passionate souls to protect them from the corporate greed of SM.

For those among us who cannot be there physically we can still send a message to the powers-that-be in SM to make our
sentiments be heard loud and clear: STOP THIS DESTRUCTIVE PROJECT,STAND IN THE SIDE OF LIFE IN ALL ITS DIVERSITY. DON'T CUT THE TREES!
